1- Obscuring the view by causing a head to be in the way when John Anderton and Danny Witwer were arguing made it look as if they were divided, showing conflict between the two of them. 2- In the beginning of the movie, the scenes were filmed in a dark and shadowy way, but towards the end of the film, it was being filmed very bright and shadowless.
3- When John is watching the halograms of his wife, it is filmed from behind the halogram so you can see John's reaction to seeing his wife.
4- When the pre-cog visions are shown, there are many different camera angles in the visions, making them seem choppy and confusing, with need for interpritation.
5- During the chase scene in the mall, they filmed John and Agatha in the perfect angle so that they would be obstructed at the exact moment when the Pre-Crime officers showed up, hiding them from view.
I think that the light to dark transition is the most effective because it shows a transition throughout the film thta many people might not notice. It's like a hidden message. It is an effective symbol for the journey of being in the dark about pre-crime, to the truth of the whole operation: that it may not really work. There are also many science ideas in the movie Minority Report. These include:
- Pre-cogs- In the film, pre-cogs are used to tell the future. The Department of Pre-Crime uses them so that they can see murders trhat will occur in the future, before they even happen in reality. They found the pre-cogs by testing the children of drug abusers. The abilities of the pre-cogs are very rare, and they are treated like gods, because they are necessary for the comminities survival.
-Pre-cog Environment- The pre-cogs live in an environment that is nicknamed "The Temple." It is called the temple because it is very quiet, peaceful, and exclusive. There is usually only one person besides the pre-cogs that are allowed in the temple. He tends for them and talks to them. The pre-cogs themselves are placed in a pool of water that all three of them lie down in all day, every day.
-Unethical?- The treatment of pre-cogs may be unethical in a medical perspective because they are not allowed to leave or go outside. For human beings to function, it is important to get Vitamin D from the sun, and because they are never allowed outside, they most likely have a Vitamin D deficiancy. Also, it is important for humans to get excersize, and to use their muscles. Because they are never even allowed to move, the pre-cogs have very small muscles and low muscle development. Thats why when John took Agatha outside she could barely walk, because her muscles are so weak. The treatment of the pre-cogs is pretty unethical.
