Pre-Crime as an endorsement of technology by the media.

  1. "endorsement of technology by the media" means that advertisements, magazines, movies, the news, etc. are supporting the new technology that is available. They aren't critical and many ads would focus on technology that would be available. In the film, one major place where this is used is the mall (when John Anderton is walking down the main hallway in the mall) because the eye scanners identify each shopper and offer up new items and tech advances that are available to each shopper.
  2. I think that this should not really be part of our society because it seems a bit intrusive and also it seems like it would be forcing people into buying, using, or investing in new technology, which would not necessarily be best for each person. It seems as if the government would be too bossy :)
  3. This could happen in our society if the government could mandate all websites and online interactions because if everyone was online and the media made it known that people will be monitored then nobody could plan crimes online (such as organizing a fight on facebook or anything along those lines).
