Cypher Eason - Minority Report Pre-Crime

The use of "pre-cogs" is unethical because they do not get a choice whether or not that want to be in a pool 24/7 being used for scientific purposes. Also pre-cogs can see in to the future, that is the only difference between and a regular human. Although it is a gift and benefits the majority of people, it is a handicap for them because they cannot leave, and get a chance to get outside or explore their passions.

If there was a system that could not fail that is supported, and would be used to fight murder, rape, and other crimes of passion I would support it as long as pre cogs were not involved. If there were a system like this with no downfalls the results would mainly be positive. On the contrary, I can understand why someone would not support this because everything happens for a reason, and maybe someone was going to change their mind at the last minute. Also, in a case such as Howard Marx's, many people would think that what his wife did was wrong, but I do not believe she deserves to die for that. Another flaw with pre-crime is that the officers and government do not get the whole story. For example, A crime of passion could happen following a planned murder.

"Sick sticks" would affect our lives today positively because people would have them instead of guns, which would lower the amount of deaths that happen from police shooting unarmed victims.
Driver-less cars would have a positive impact on today's society because they would minimize car accidents, which in turn would lead to fewer deaths. Because the majority of car accidents happen from human error, these cars would eliminate the opportunity for any human errors. This is similar to pre-crime, in the sense that it lowers deaths, but different because there is no unethical usage of pre-cogs.
Eye scanners would be the better alternative to fingerprint scanning because they are more accurate than fingerprint scanning, and can be used even if someone's eyes are closed.

Cypher Eason- Minority Report Science

Philip K. Dick uses science fiction to tell a story with futuristic elements such as the settings in his writings. Many locations take place far after the time period his writings were written. His writings express his depiction of the future, and his skepticism of reality and people. A lot of other major themes and propelling features of the films inspired by his writing use science, such as the replicants in Blade Runner, and the precogs in Minority Report.

Minority Report uses science as a theme to the story with the pre-cogs. One of the major themes/questions brought up is if the usage of the pre-cogs is ethical. This question propels the story, and separates the protagonists, and antagonists.

the evolving theme of science in today's world affect us positively because technology makes things more accessible, and easier. For example, getting directions to a place is seamless with technology like siri, and google maps. But as technology advances, privacy becomes less relevant. For example, many mobile apps use your specific location. And almost all smartphones can be tracked.

My favorite part of the movie was when Tom Cruise has bandage over his eyes and the spiders are looking for him so he hides under the bath water.

I like that particular part because it was very suspenseful and I felt like I was experiencing what he was experiencing.

I think it would be very easy to have these spiders become a real thing, it's similar to remote control cars and helicopters and those have been around for a couple years.

Yes, I think this could help find criminals easier.

Pre crime is a sign of totally protective government.

1. Define term… protective government. The government knows exactly where you have been and where you are going. The ads the you see are outcomes of everything you've previously bought or looked at with interest.

2. Yes, when you could see the ads showing, or when whenever you left to get on a train or enter a store, something scans your eyes so there is a track of where you have been.

3. The Columbine high school massacre could have been stopped if pre cogs were a thing because they would have seen the time and place of what was going to happen.

Science in Minority Report.

The pre cogs in minority report are used in the film to stop crime before it happens. Not all crime, only major crimes like murder and rape. The pre cogs are clairvoyant, so they can see when someone is going to commit a crime.

The environment that the pre cogs live in, is  a pool. They are looked after, and other people clean them and take care of them.

It can be unethical because even though the 3 pre cogs are saving lots of lives, they are stripped from their lives. They are hardly human, they don't have their civil rights.

Human beings wouldn't be able to survive and live the same way the pre cogs do. Humans need to be able to move around to stay healthy, also normal humans can't sleep for as long as the pre cogs do. Humans could maybe survive this way of living for half a year, but not for their whole life.
